Bullying No Way! Week is August 17–21.

Yesterday, our Year 6 leaders facilitated a Tribes session with their multi-age groups about bullying and being an upstander. Students watched short clips, discussed ways to speak up, show kindness and support others, and shared their ideas on balloons for a colourful whole-school display celebrating inclusion and respect.

We have also included two great clips for families to watch together and use as a starting point for conversations about bullying and being an upstander. To view these clips please click on the links go to the Wellbeing and SWPBS pages.

The POPS Bullying Prevention Policy details our approach to preventing and addressing bullying. Preventing and responding to bullying is a shared responsibility between the school and families. We encourage parents to raise concerns promptly and arrange a meeting with their child’s teacher, Mrs Bullen, or me. This allows us to work together to understand the situation and implement appropriate support.

Year 5/6 Urban School Camp

Next week, Year 5/6 students will attend Urban School Camp, visiting Melbourne’s key sites such as the Old Melbourne Gaol, Parliament House, Shrine of Remembrance, MCG, Melbourne Skydeck, and Melbourne Zoo at night.

We wish our students an enjoyable camp and thank the Year 5/6 staff for their planning and preparation. 5/6 Families will receive daily updates through Compass.

Have you seen the turtle in front of the Foundation classrooms?! 🐢 A huge thank you to Mrs Perret for putting this together. We are so grateful for the time and creativity she has put into making the area bright, welcoming and inviting for our Foundation students!

Don't forget tomorrow is Walk to School Day. Staff will meet families at one of the 3Ds (Domeney, Dalry and Drayton)

Finally, I want to thank Mrs Bullen and Mrs Quah for leading the school so well while I was away. I also want to give a special thanks to all our staff for supporting each other. We are lucky to have such dedicated and caring professionals at POPS.
