PB Challenge #2 will no longer be held as a separate meet on 20 September. Instead, we will be incorporating the PB Challenge into our RSC Long Course Meet on Sunday 13 September at Aquanation.
With all of our swimmers in these squads expected to compete at the RSC Long Course Meet, as well as target the Nuna Cheltenham Meet on Saturday 19 September, we felt that three meets across two weekends was too much. Removing the separate PB Challenge gives our swimmers and families one less meet to attend while still giving our juniors the opportunity to establish their long course PBs.
What do our Junior swimmers need to do?
All junior swimmers should enter the RSC Long Course Meet on Sunday 13 September and swim the events recommended by their coach. For most swimmers, this will likely be:
Your coach will provide guidance on the most appropriate events for your swimmer.
The events each swimmer swims at the RSC Long Course Meet will then become their PB Challenge events. At our next Long Course PB Challenge later in the season (date TBC), swimmers will enter those same events and aim to improve on the times they set on 13 September.
This gives our swimmers a great opportunity to establish some new long course PBs at our home meet and then have a clear set of times to chase at the next PB Challenge.
Targeted meet for our Foundation, Junior Pathways, Junior Squad and Novice Squad.
