Anti-Bullying

At St Anthony's, we believe that every child deserves to learn, play and grow in an environment where they feel safe, respected and truly valued. Creating a culture of care isn’t just an ideal, it is at the very heart of our daily school life.

Our efforts are guided by Sydney Catholic School's Anti-Bullying Policy, which sets out clear standards to prevent, identify and address any instances of bullying behavior promptly and effectively. However, a policy is only the foundation; real safety is built through our everyday actions and relationships.

We actively encourage our students to look out for one another by:

• Practicing Kindness & Empathy: Helping students understand different perspectives and celebrate what makes each of us unique.
• Being "Upstanders," Not Bystanders: Empowering children to speak up, include peers who might feel left out, and report unkind behavior to a trusted adult.

• Building Strong Connections: Teaching conflict resolution and positive communication skills both in the classroom and on the playground.

By working together - teachers, parents and students - we ensure our school remains a warm, welcoming space where every child knows they belong. 

National Child Protection Week

Theme: "Shifting Conversations Into Action"

As we celebrate National Child Protection Week, we are reminded that creating a safe, nurturing environment for our children is a commitment shared by our entire school community. This year’s theme, “Shifting Conversations into Action,” serves as a powerful reminder that while talking about safety is essential, real impact comes from turning those discussions into practical, everyday habits. We encourage all families to take simple, meaningful steps at home—such as helping your child identify their "trusted adults," talking openly about feelings and actively listening when they share their worries. Together, by moving from awareness to everyday action, we can ensure every child feels safe, heard, and supported. 

National Science Week 2026

A massive thank you to all our wonderful students for making our National Science Week celebration on Thursday, 20 August such an unforgettable day! It was fantastic to see so much creativity on display with your incredible costumes. Our young scientists brought so much enthusiasm to every hands-on experiment, diving into testing, exploring, and discovering with incredible curiosity. Thank you for bringing so much energy and passion to the day—you truly brought science to life!

MindQuest 26

MindQuest caters for high potential and gifted primary students from years one to six.

On Saturday and Sunday 29 & 20 September 2026, the NSW Talent Enrichment Weekend MindQuest will be held for primary students from Years 1-6 at St George Girls High School. These include gifted and high potential students, gifted underachievers and students with above ability with a special interest. Students will have an opportunity to participate in over 33 exciting, fast paced courses in the two day program. They include courses in chemistry, earth sciences, drama, lego robotics, art and much, much more. Many of these highly successful courses have been run in the past and students' evaluations suggest that they have been challenged and enriched by the experience. The cost of the weekend is $250 (including GST).

Book In A Box:Years K-6 Information Outline

‘Book in a Box’ is a chance to bring your favourite book to life by putting together objects that relate to your book and using them to tell the story of what your book is all about. It

 involves decorating a box and filling it with items that represent different aspects of a book, allowing for a creative and engaging way to showcase the story. This project includes decorating the interior and exterior of the box to reflect the book's themes, summarising the plot and characters, and including objects that relate to the story, with accompanying explanations or quotes from the book.

New driveway markings in 'Kiss n Go' line on Arden Street

You may have noticed that lines have been painted by Randwick Council across our school driveway, in the 'Kiss n Go' line on Arden Street.  A few weeks ago, during our Grandparents' Day celebrations, we had to call an ambulance and a parent or grandparent was parked across this driveway and the ambulance had to double park on Arden Street.  The school driveway is the emergency vehicles access point for the school.

Also, a gentle reminder to all parents and carers who do drop off or pick up, that our 'Kiss n Go' line on Arden is a No Parking section between 8am - 9.30am and 2.30pm - 4pm on school days.  We ask that parents and carers do not park in this area during those times, including at wet weather pick up time. 

2026 Staff Development Days (Pupil Free Days)

Each year, Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) provides time for Staff Development Days (SDD), which provides professional learning time for all staff. St Anthony's will provide supervision for ALL Staff Development Days from Monday 20 July, for parents that are in need of care for their child due to work commitments. Parents will need to register.
