Principal's News

Dear SMCM Community, Wominjeka!

Congratulations, SMCM!

What an incredible team effort from our entire school community! Thanks to your dedication in collecting and uploading receipts, we proudly secured 3rd place in the Pacific Epping Shop for Schools competition, winning a $10,000 prize. A heartfelt thank you to the families who joined us for the prize presentation last Thursday—your support is greatly appreciated.

Lane Building Flexible Spaces

Exciting improvements are coming to the Lane Learning Community over the school holidays. As part of Stage 2 of our open learning space retrofit, internal glass panels and sliding doors will be installed to create a more flexible and effective learning environment. This capital works project, valued at approximately $220,000, is being funded through a combination of school cash reserves and $50,000 raised by our school community, including the recent $10,000 prize. Your contributions—through school fees and fundraising—help us continue to enhance learning spaces and resources for our students. Thank you for making this possible.

Semester One Reports

As we near the end of Semester One, it’s a time to celebrate the many learning achievements of our students.

Student reports will be distributed on Monday 30th June. These reports, together with your child’s Online Learning Log on Seesaw and the recent Learning Conversations, offer a rich insight into your child’s progress. We encourage families to reach out to their child’s homegroup teacher to discuss learning at any time throughout the year.

Term 2 concludes on Friday 4th July. It’s been a productive and enriching 10 weeks of learning. Thank you for your ongoing support of your child’s education and for being active partners in our school community.

Congratulations to Rima, Basem, Noah (Eucalyptus), Elijah and Jeremiah on the arrival of their new baby girl, Emilia Marie last Monday!

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mark, Leo, and Ruben (Tennison-Woods Homegroup) on the sad passing of Dianna, a much-loved wife and mother.

Dianna’s generosity of spirit and willingness to lend a hand were always deeply appreciated by the SMCM community. Whether it was sorting uniforms, counting orders, or helping at our Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, she gave her time with kindness and dedication.  We hold Mark, Leo, Ruben, and their extended family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Wishing all families a safe, restful, and refreshing mid-year break. We look forward to welcoming students back for Term 3!
