Improvements students like to see at Highvale Primary School

Good morning/afternoon everyone, this week Anvita and I explored different students’ ideas, thoughts and opinions on how they believe Highvale Primary School could improve into the future. We simply asked “What improvements would you like to see happen at Highvale?” We purposefully asked a very open question because we wanted students to think of things themselves and not be led to answer in a particular way. It was interesting to see that most of the ideas were about ‘outside’ changes and this made Anvita and I think that everything must be going well ‘inside’ HPS!

Following is the list of ideas and we hope some of them may happen for future students at Highvale.

Improvements:

• Better sports equipment
• More and better sports facilities (such as an upgrade to cricket nets)
• More excursions/incursions (such as swimming)
• Lunchtime sports clubs
• More play tech time
• More play time (longer breaks)
• More and better 2-square courts
• More outside seating 
• Cleaner toilets
• More soap in soap dispensers
• More water bubblers to drink from around the school
• Change end of breaktime music
• More variety of plants in gardens
