Student Spotlight

Highlighting students who are achieving great things in the community

 Robert Bonney

Year 10 student Robert Bonney was recently selected to take part in the AFL’s National Flying Boomerangs Program.  The Flying Boomerangs program aims to provide a platform for aspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander footballers to improve their leadership and football skills through training and personal development activities.

Robert also had the chance to play against the National Multicultural team and showcase his talent, giving himself a great opportunity to be invited into the AFL’s 2025 National Indigenous Academy. We would like to congratulate Robert on this significant achievement.

Isaac Adamos

Year 12 music student, Isaac Adamos was recently a part of the national Australian Youth Orchestra’s Young Symphonists program. Isaac represented WA as one of three participants in a pool of 60 selected musicians across Australia following an extensive audition process. The immersive program in Canberra, was filled with rehearsals and musical training, building up to an electrifying final concert performing works from Australian composers as well as the likes of Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky.

This professional setting exposed Isaac to look towards more detailed style of playing, developing precise techniques for a vast array of percussion instruments from the tambourine, cymbals, triangle, glockenspiel and even drum kit. Isaac is also a percussionist with West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra. Participating with the Australian Youth Orchestra is just one of many experiences Isaac has had this year, expanding his reach beyond WA and showcasing the Spirit of Excellence.
