Accelerated Maths Program (AMP)

Our Accelerated Maths Program (AMP) launched last week with our high-achieving Year 4–6 students. Mr Sam warmed the students up with a Prime Numbers Battle, setting the tone for a fun and engaging program designed to challenge and extend our students. You can watch a video on Instagram.

The Buddy Program

The Preps and Year 5s have had so much fun with the buddy system, which has been a hit throughout many years! Preps love having buddies because they comfort them all the time and it also makes them feel like they have someone to go to and that they’re not alone.

According to the data we have collected, the prep's buddies are the reason why they mostly want to go to school, and we also asked preps what they like about their buddies, and they said “because they are nice people”.

Lots of preps like to play red light green light and hide and seek with their buddies. We also saw some Year 5s doing drawings with their buddies which looked fun. 

We did an activity with a flower, inside each petal you could write words that make a good friend, like “kindness” and “fairness”. The preps helped decorate while the Year 5s did the writing. When you finished decorating the flower, we cut it out and stuck a straw on as the stem. The preps loved them and got to take them home.

It is such a fun experience for the Preps because it makes the feel good about their future school life!
