After winning back to back Victorian Merino Wether Challenge championships in late August, the Year 10 students quickly gave the pen a makeover and in preparation for the arrival of two calves.

On 1st September, a Jersey x Friesian heifer and a Jersey x Illawarra heifer arrived were delivered by Tatura dairy farmer, Michael Tuhan, as part of the Cows Create Careers program. They stayed for the final 3 weeks of term 3, during which time the Year 10 Agriculture students completed various learning tasks for submission into the National competition. The Year 11 VCE students were rostered on to the morning and afternoon feeds during that time.

The Year 11 students had also been caring for 16 chicks which they raised from 2 days old and were purchased by various staff members towards the end of the term.
