Heads of Secondary Years' Report

To our wonderful Hazel Glen community,

What a wonderful evening we had, last Wednesday, 19th November, as we celebrated our Year 12 Graduating Class of 2025 at their Graduation Ceremony. Our College Captains Gurteg and Maddie and Vice Captains Sajani and Marita, all gave memorable speeches that summarised their deep gratitude for their families, friends, our teachers and support staff and the opportunities that they have been provided with at Hazel Glen. They spoke about the memories they have made and their hopes for their future, and they left us feeling very proud of not only the speeches they gave but also the wonderful job they have done in representing our College this year.

To the class of 2025, your years at our College have helped to prepare you for an exciting new chapter filled with opportunities, challenges and growth. Whether your next steps involve further study, work, travel, or a combination of these, embrace each experience as a chance to learn and grow. From all of us at Hazel Glen College, we wish you success, safety, and fulfilment as you embark on this next phase of your journey. It has been a privilege to share your schooling with you.

Our class of 2026 have completed their Year 12 Early Start Program today and have also finished classes for the year. The current Year 10s have finished their exams and have completed the first week of their Year 11 Early Start Program and will officially finish classes next week.

Our Year 9s have continued with City Experience and recently enjoyed their visit to Hoyts and Melbourne Central and they are looking forward to enjoying the "student choice" City Experience adventures next week. They also hosted their Creative Writing Showcase Evening this week and have exams next week. Their Year 10 Early Start Program is on the 8th and 9th of December and their Celebration Day is on the 10th of December.

This week, we hosted the VCE VM Information Evening for families of students who are studying VCE Vocational Major next year and we were treated to amazing performances at the Instrumental Music Academy and Instrumental Music Program Showcase evening last night.

It is this time of year that our teachers are busy organising all of our students into classes for next year. Please remember that we do take student requests, but there are also many factors to consider. We ask for your support during this process.
