Part of our annual Trivia Night fundraiser is a silent auction. 3 years ago, we moved this part of the event onto an online platform - enabling our entire school community access to the auction instead of just the lucky attendees on the night. 

Items will continue to be added right up until the event so keep checking in to see what amazing items we have up for grabs! Happy Bidding!

Parent Teacher Interviews

In weeks 5 and 6 of this term, we will be holding our annual Parent-Teacher Interviews for 2025. As per last year, these will be facilitated over 4 evenings, as indicated below.

Timeslots will run for 15 minutes maximum with conversations framed upon student learning, achievement, growth, and well-being. Students are not required to be in attendance for the PTI sessions. 

Please note: any students who are part of the SSG (Student Support Group) Meeting schdule are not required to have a Parent Teacher Interview. 

Bookings are now open for 4 weeks and close on Friday, 22nd August at 3:45 pm. 

Bookings are made online via your COMPASS Portal.

Book Week Parade & Open Classroom Invitation - Mon Aug 18th  

Our annual Newtown PS Book Week Dress-up Parade will be held on Monday 18th August on the basketball court (weather permitting) from 9.15am. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character!  This year’s theme is Book an Adventure.   Parents, carers and family members are all welcome to attend to watch the parade. 

After the parade, we are inviting all parents, carers and family members to come into the classroom to share in some writing that your child has been working on in class.

Classooms will be open after the conclusion of the parade through to 10:15am.

Let's celebrate literacy and the adventures that reading and writing can take us on!

Prep & Junior - Specialist Open Morning

The specialist team would like to invite you to an open morning on Wednesday the 27th of August. Come and join in a morning of fun in PE, Art, Indonesian & Music/Performing Arts lessons with your child!

The morning will run from 9am until 11am and families are invited to come for all or just some of your child’s sessions. Please see the timetable attached.

New Fundraiser - Bunnings BBQ, Waurn Ponds!

Together with School Council, our Parents and Friends Subcommittee applied to run a Bunnings BBQ and were successful in organising a date this year. 

Our Newtown PS Bunnings BBQ is set for - Sat 18th October, 2025 - at the Waurn Ponds Bunnings Store. 

Please keep this date in mind, we will be calling for a number of volunteers to volunteer their time on this day in support of our fundraising efforts.  

Our fundraising focus for this year is to enhance and re-energise our whole school Library Space!
