International Women’s Day
On Friday, March 7, the Student Voice and Leadership Team held a breakfast to celebrate International Women's Day. There was a fantastic turnout - with many of our young people attending with a special woman from their lives - creating such a memorable morning.
Our guest speaker Margaret Cocroran, mother of our Assistant Principal Lucy Blackburne, stole the show with a truly amazing presentation that without a doubt inspired everyone in the room. Margaret spoke of her experiences as a woman in leadership, particularly in Education; encouraging all women in attendance to own their fears and ‘step-in’ to the space and tackles challenges.
The breakfast would not have been possible without the support of many in our school community, including a number of staff members and local businesses. Thank you to Yummy Cakes, Can’t Find It, Coles Eltham and Bakers Delight Greensborough for their generosity and contributions to our event. A big thank you is also needed for our incredible VET Hospitality students and Yas Ziada for the delicious food they cooked up early in the morning for all to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who attended to help Accelerate Action!

Reconciliation Action Plan
In 2025, we will continue our work in developing our Reconciliation Action Plan. Last year, the working party developed our Vision for Reconciliation and worked with our students to develop a draft Acknowledgement of Country.
We invite all students, parents and school community members to be part of our meaningful journey towards Reconciliation. By joining our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Party, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with others in shaping a more inclusive, respectful, and culturally aware learning community.
If you are interested in joining the Working Party, please email Nadia Devlin, nadia.devlin@education.vic.gov.au.
The meeting dates for Semester 1 are as follows:
Tuesday, March 18 at 4:45pm (online)
Tuesday, April 29 at 4:45pm (onsite)
Tuesday, May 27 at 4:45pm (online)
