Sacrament of First Eucharist

Please keep our Year 4 students in your prayers as they celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist. On Wednesday 29 July, the first group of students received this special sacrament during the first of our two Eucharist ceremonies, with Fr Trac guiding and supporting them in this important milestone of their faith journey. We look forward to celebrating with the remaining Year 4 students at our second ceremony this Sunday the 2nd of August. A sincere thank you to our Year 4 teachers, Miss Meg Mackinnon and Mr Shane Daly, for their dedication in preparing the students for this special occasion.

Grandparents Day Mass

Our annual Grandparents Day Mass was once again a wonderful celebration of faith, family, and community. This year, the church was as full as we have ever seen it, and it was a joy to welcome so many grandparents and special friends to celebrate with us. Our celebration was especially meaningful as it coincided with the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus, reminding us of the important role grandparents play in passing on faith, love, and wisdom. Thank you to our whole school community for joining us, and we hope you enjoyed the beautiful readings and singing led by our students as we began the morning together.

Year 1 - Images of God

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of visiting our Year 1 classrooms, where it was wonderful to see the students so engaged in their Religious Education learning. They had been exploring different images of God and were incredibly excited to share their thoughtful and creative illustrations with me. Their enthusiasm and faith filled conversations were a joy to witness, and I hope you enjoy their beautiful work just as much as we did at school.

Message from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS). Family Connection

In this Sunday's Gospel, Jesus feeds a huge crowd with just five loaves of bread and two fish. Although the food seemed too little, Jesus showed that when we share what we have with love and trust in God, amazing things can happen. This Gospel reminds us that even small acts of kindness and generosity can make a big difference in the lives of others.

What are some ways our family can share what we have with others this week?

Family Activity

Bake a simple loaf of bread, bread rolls, or fish-shaped biscuits together as a family. As you prepare the food, talk about how Jesus used ordinary bread and fish to care for the crowd. Before sharing your meal, think of one way each family member can show generosity this week, whether it's sharing time, helping someone at home, or showing kindness to a friend. If you're able, consider donating some non-perishable food to a local food bank or parish pantry as another way of living out the Gospel message.
