Student Engagement at Corpus Christi 2026

From 17–21 August, our school will be recognising Bullying No Way Week, a national initiative that raises awareness about bullying prevention and encourages everyone to work together to create safe, inclusive and respectful communities. This year's theme, Small Acts, Big Impact, reminds us that even the smallest positive actions can make a significant difference in someone's day.

In the lead up to Bullying No Way week, students will continue to explore the meaning of bullying, understand what bullying behaviour looks like and identify how we can support one another. This will be unpacked through our social / emotional curriculum. They will learn the importance of being an upstander rather than a bystander and discover how simple actions—such as including someone in a game, speaking up when something doesn't seem right, checking in on a classmate, or showing kindness—can have a lasting and positive impact.

At Corpus Christi, we are committed to creating a school where every child feels safe, valued and experiences a true sense of belonging. We celebrate diversity, encourage respectful relationships and make it clear that bullying is never accepted. Preventing bullying is a shared responsibility, and the most meaningful learning happens when schools and families work together. Healthy conversations at home about kindness, empathy, respectful relationships and how to respond when children see or experience unkind behaviour help reinforce the important messages students are learning at school.

Our learning during Bullying No Way Week aligns closely with our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework and our Kindness Curriculum, inspired by the values and message of Do It for Dolly. Together, these approaches teach students the skills to build positive relationships, demonstrate empathy, celebrate differences and contribute to a school culture where everyone feels respected, supported and included.

We encourage all families to take a few moments over the next couple of weeks to talk with your child about the power of small acts of kindness. By working together, we can help create a community where kindness is the norm, everyone belongs and every small act truly does make a big impact.
