Our Foundation students had a wonderful time celebrating 100 Days of School! We started the day by enjoying breakfast together with cereal and toast before taking part in lots of exciting 100-day challenges. We built towers with 100 cups, created with 100 LEGO pieces, wrote 100 words, and threaded 100 beads. We also enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch before finishing our special celebration with a movie and popcorn. What a fun and memorable day we had! Congratulations on your 100 Days of School!

On Tuesday 21st July we had our annual House Athletics Carnival @ Doncaster Athletics Track. It was terrific to see everyone putting in such a terrific effort throughout the day and trying to achieve their personal best in everything they did. Mrs. Collins and Mr. Will, will now look at the results from this event and select the Milgate PS Athletics Team, which will represent Milgate at the Templestowe District Athletics Carnival later in the term. Well done to everyone and many thanks to Mrs. Collins, Yr. 3 – 6 teachers, ES Staff and parents who assisted throughout the day.
The results were as follows:

In the last week of Term 2, our passionate Junior School Council leaders proudly led a fundraiser to raise awareness and support for endangered animals. Throughout the week, students organised and ran stalls at recess and lunch, selling bookmarks and bracelets, with all proceeds going towards this important cause.
The week ended with a wonderful animal-themed dress up day, where students came dressed as their favourite animals, wore animal-themed clothing, or chose colours to represent an animal they care about. It was fantastic to see our school community get involved so enthusiastically and generously donate to the cause.
This fundraiser was a wonderful example of student action in many different forms. Our JSC leaders not only raised money, but also educated others, shared their passion, encouraged participation and inspired our community to think more deeply about how we can care for the world around us.
As an IB school, we hope to develop learners and citizens of the world who understand that they have the power to contribute, make thoughtful choices and take meaningful action. We are incredibly proud of our JSC leaders for showing what this can look like in action.
A big thank you to our students, families and staff for supporting this important initiative.
