Mathematics Games Day

Last Thursday, 30 July, a group of Year 5 students travelled to Bentleigh West Primary School to participate in the 2026 Year 5 MAV Games Day.

The students were divided into two teams. 

Team 1 consisted of Luca, RJ, Alex and Anthony, while Team 2 included Lachlan, Liliana, Natalie and Will V.

Throughout the day, students participated in a range of exciting mathematical challenges and games, testing their problem-solving, reasoning and teamwork skills. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, challenging themselves and having a great time!

Although Galilee didn’t take home the overall team prize this year, we did have one very sweet success! Our students correctly guessed the number of lollies in a jar and won the entire jar as their prize.

Well done to the Year 5 students who represented Galilee so enthusiastically. We are very proud of the way you challenged yourselves, worked as a team and embraced the spirit of the day!
