It’s important to remember that pain medicine doesn’t treat the cause of your child’s pain, so if you are worried about other symptoms or they need pain relief for over 48 hours, take them to a doctor. Ā

While pain medicines are great at making kids feel more comfortable, giving too much pain medicine can be dangerous. Ā

ā€¼ļø Call the Poisons Information Centre (13 11 26 in Australia) if you think your child has had too much pain medicine and seek urgent medical review if advised. If your child stops breathing, loses consciousness or starts having seizures, call an ambulance (000) immediately.Ā
