Principal's Report

While the cold winter weather has well and truly settled in, our Foundation students certainly brightened up the school last Friday as we celebrated their 100th day of school.

The theme for the milestone was '100 days brighter,' and it was great to see students dressed up in their brightest outfits. A huge shout out to all the parents and carers for the time and effort that went into creating and crafting these outfits - the students looked amazing! A thank you must also go to our Foundation teachers and ES staff for organising such a great day of activities and celebrations to mark the occasion. And of course, well done to our wonderful Foundation students, 100 days of excellent learning at school with many more exciting milestones to come!

House Athletics

A huge well done to all the students who braved the chilly winter weather to compete in our House Athletics Day last week. It is always wonderful to see our students getting involved and giving their best effort. It was our first event with our new house names in action and, while every student gave it their all, Blue Gum came out as the eventual winners.

Events of this scale simply cannot run without the support of our community, so a massive thank you goes out to all the parent helpers who volunteered their time on the day. Finally, congratulations and thank you to Mrs P for her hard work in organising yet another highly successful and smoothly run event.

Movie Night

A big thank you to our Social and Fundraising team for organising Saturday night's Movie Night. It was fantastic to see such a massive turnout, with every single ticket sold for the screening of Zootopia. We really appreciate the hard work that goes into pulling these events together for our community. Watch this space to see how some of the funds raised will be spent to brighten up our school!

State Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to Charlie H in Grade 6 and Tahj P in Grade 4 who both competed in the Victorian State Cross Country Championships at Yarra Glen earlier this term. Charlie ran a fantastic race to place 35th, while Tahj put in a massive effort to finish 70th in his event. Simply reaching the state level is an outstanding achievement in itself, and everyone at BPS is extremely proud of the grit and determination they both showed in representing our school.
