National Agriculture Day

Friday 21st November was National Agriculture Day.   This special day was especially appropriate to celebrate given that Ballarat High School started in 1907 as Ballarat Agricultural College.  The library celebrated with a team trivia event.

Loretta designed the quiz so that most questions were easily answered, while some might require the team to brainstorm together.  Questions ranged from “Name 2 products made from milk” to “Name a native Australian animal which is commercially farmed” (possible answers were Crocodile and Emu – not kangaroos as they are wild shot).

Jade Aitken came well prepared with their own list of possible topics and answers ready to consult.

The winners, “The Voodoo Dolls”, consisted of Evan C (Yr 10), Jade A (Yr 7), Sascha M (Yr 10), Amelia M (Yr 8) and Isabella R (Yr 8).  It was great to see such a diverse team working together.  They were awarded a box of chocolates to share.

Second place went to “In the Corner” and third place to “Blanking on this”, who got a chocolate each.

Thanks to all the students who participated so well.
