Welcome to the Ballarat High School Sports Corner where all the results for school events, School Sport Victoria (SSV) events, BAS After School events and highlighting significant external sporting achievements from present and past students.
School Sport Victoria (SSV) Events
SSV State Year 7 Boys Volleyball
On Friday 14th November BHS took our Year 7 Boys to the SSV State Year 7 Boys Volleyball at the Dandenong Sports Stadium.
With the first match of the day starting at 9:30am it was a 6:30am depart from Ballarat High School.
The Year 7 Boys were part of an 8 team Pool Play competition. They drew Pool B alongside Eltham High School, (0 sets, 32 points to 2 sets, 40 points), Henderson College (0-21 v 2-40) and Wodonga Middle Years College (0-30 v 2-40). Braybrook College, Cranbourne East P-12, Upwey High School & Trafalgar High School made up Pool A.
The team had many close opportunities to win some sets but unfortunately couldn’t get on the board and finished 4th in Pool B. This meant the team had missed out on a position in the finals.
The pain of missing the finals was quickly remedied when they were awarded the Spirit of Sport award for the competition by demonstrating the highest positivity and sportsmanship amongst the participating schools. This is the fourth Spirit in Sport Award the school has won this year.
