Principal's Report

Thoughts from our Principal - Mrs Casey Chard

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

Athletics Carnival

I would like to acknowledge the tremendous success of Wednesday’s Athletics Carnival. It is always a pleasure to see our students embrace the day with such enthusiasm, participation and encouragement of one another. Whether competing for a ribbon, striving for a personal best, or cheering on their classmates, our students demonstrated the very best of St Joseph's!

Events such as these are only possible through the efforts of many people. My sincere thanks go to Mrs Sarah Smith, whose organisation and leadership ensured the carnival ran smoothly. I also extend my gratitude to our staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and throughout the day to provide a positive experience for every young person. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive community and I thank the many parent volunteers who generously gave their time. Whether you filled an official role or simply stepped in to lend a hand when needed, your support was greatly appreciated. Finally, thank you to the large number of family members and supporters who attended and encouraged our students throughout the day. Your presence added greatly to the spirit and success of the carnival.

Our Catholic Faith

As a Catholic school, our faith remains at the heart of all that we do. On Tuesday, our St Joseph’s staff gathered for a day of faith formation and professional learning centred on the theme ‘Catholic Identity: The Story We Write Together,’ exploring the important role each of us plays in nurturing the Catholic culture of our schools and living our faith in practical and meaningful ways. The day concluded with prayer and reflection, providing an opportunity to pause and listen for God's presence in our shared mission of Catholic education. This Sunday, a number of our students will celebrate the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, an important milestone in their faith journey as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. We congratulate these students and their families and warmly invite our school community to join us at the 8.30 am Mass at St Patrick's Church as we celebrate this special occasion together.

May God bless you and your family.
