Sacramental Program: First Communion

This Term, we look forward to supporting our Year 4 students as they prepare to receive their First Communion. Please note the following dates/times:

Year 4 First Communion Retreat Session: Wed 10 June @ 12.00pm in the Narthex

Catholic Education Week: Family Shamrock

Thank you to all families for contributing to our Catholic Education Week Family Display. As part of celebrating the life of St Patrick and the values he portrayed, each family discussed and chose a value that was important to them. Thank you to our Arts Leaders; Olivia Nolan, Rose Iles, Matilda Stubbs and Aira Merchant for creating the whole school display. We love the wide variety of positive values that our families have shared!

Social Justice: Mini Vinnies Lenten Appeal

Thank you to our generous school community for supporting the Mini Vinnies Lenten Appeal. Your kind donations will help to provide fresh running water systems for many communities who up until now, have had to walk 30 minutes each way daily to get fresh drinking water. Thank you to our Year 5/6 Mini Vinnies for leading this important initiative!

School/Family Faith: Holy Week Re-enactment

During the last week of Term 1 and this first week of Term 2, we experienced the stories of Holy Week and Easter as a whole school. This is a well loved tradition that invites students to share some of the important liturgical events with the school community as they move through the year levels from Prep - Year 6.

At the end of last term, it was wonderful to experience the ‘journey’, beginning in our hall with the Preps sharing Palm Sunday. After that, we journeyed to St Roch’s Church where our Year 4 students shared the ‘Washing of the Feet’ and ‘The Last Supper’. We then moved to Father Gallacher’s garden where our Year 3 students shared the story of the ‘Garden of Gethsemane’. It was then a walk back onto school grounds for the ‘Stations of the Cross’ presented by our Year 5&6 students. Finally, this week, our Year 1 and 2 students shared with us the joyful ‘Easter Story’.

Thank you to Luka Fatovic (Year 6) for providing a continuous portrayal of Jesus throughout this story and to Father Gallacher for reflecting on each event to deepen our understanding.
