Our Grade 5/6 students have had a busy and exciting term filled with lots of engaging learning experiences.

In Maths, students have been building their ICT skills by using laptops as part of their daily learning. They have also been exploring the properties of 3D objects, investigating faces, edges, vertices and cross-sections.

In Reading and Writing, through our Mappen unit, students have been learning about significant events in Australia’s history, including the first railway line, the gold rush and the story of Jandamarra, an Aboriginal resistance leader from the Bunuba people.

We were also fortunate to welcome two members of the local RSL, who shared their knowledge about ANZAC Day and helped students understand the importance of remembering those who have served our country.

In Upper Sport, students have been enthusiastically learning the skills and rules for their chosen sports in preparation for the Winter Sports event at the end of the term. It has been wonderful to see their teamwork and sportsmanship on display.
