Mother's Day Stall

Thank you to all the parent helper volunteers that assisted in the Mother's Day stall.

It was a great success and we loved seeing the smiles on the children's faces as they purchased gifts for their mum and or special persons.

P&F Minutes 28th April 2026

Welcome and Introductions

Vice Principal, Nella Fimiami, welcomed everyone and provided the Principal’s update.

The role of P&F Friends was shared.

Parents & Friends (P&F)

At St Carlo Borromeo, our Parents & Friends (P&F) group plays a vital role in supporting our school community. The P&F exists to help create the best possible environment for our students through fundraising, community events and activities that enrich school life. We warmly welcome any parents who would like to become involved in any capacity.

The P&F works to:

  • Build a strong sense of community by organising and facilitating events and activities
  • Raise funds to support the school in purchasing resources, improving facilities, and enhancing opportunities for our students

Members of the P&F are required to:

  • Support school leadership and ensure all activities align with the school’s Vision
  • Act with integrity, care and diligence, always placing the interests of the school first
  • Respect confidentiality and maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Declare any conflicts of interest
  • Ensure all activities comply with child safety requirements and the MACS Code of Conduct
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and complete required volunteer training
  • Engage respectfully and positively with all members of the school community
  • Uphold and protect the good name of St Carlo’s at all times

All funds raised by the P&F are used to support the school and benefit our students, as determined by the Principal and School Leadership Team.

Term One Events and Fundraising:

  • Picture Plate fundraiser: Katrina provided an update noting the school received 87 orders and raised $1,000. Delivery is expected in approximately three weeks.
  • Zooper Doopers: Vicky shared that 26 mums assisted with serving Zooper Doopers throughout the term. It was suggested by a couple of parents that we consider offering them twice a week on Wednesday if that was an option. It was noted that Zooper Doopers are served in Terms 1 and 4 only.
  • St Patrick's Day Morning Tea - 17 March: Approximately 400 orders for green iced donuts were placed for St Patrick’s Day. We had 6 parent helpers assist on the day to deliver the donuts for morning tea.
  • Easter Raffle: We were fortunate to have families donate a range of items, including baskets, ribbon, cellophane, wrapping paper, craft kits, lollies, and Easter eggs for our annual Easter raffle fundraiser. The raffle was very well received, with 57 hampers distributed to the lucky student winners.

Term Two Events and Fundraising:

  • Mother’s Day Stall - 7 May: The Mother’s Day stall is scheduled after the Mother's Day Breakfast on the 7 May. A schedule will be circulated to those wishing to assist on the day. Parent helpers have been assisting over the past few weeks with pricing and sorting of stock.
  • Sausage Sizzle – 22 May: A sausage sizzle has been scheduled for 22 May, and parent helpers will be needed on the day. Further details will be sent via email to those who register using the QR code

Term Three and Four Events and Fundraising:

  • Fathers Day Stall
  • AFL - gold coin donation for wearing your team's colour, maybe have hot food too?

General Business

New ideas for consideration:

  • Colour Fun Run
  • Casual clothes day on the last day of each term (gold coin donation)
  • Daniel Morcombe Day (gold coin donation)
    • There was discussion around incorporating the theme "Wear Red for Daniel".
  • Italian Day or Pizza Day
  • AFL - Hot Food Day (e.g. pies and hotdogs – proposed date: 18 September)
  • School Disco (during the day, if the option is not available for the evening)
  • Night market or Fete in summer - not this year as we have a Parish fete
  • Twilight Christmas event
  • Harmony Day, cultural celebrations
  • Book Week, there will be a Book Parade
  • Zooper Doopers to be held twice a week (Wednesday and Friday), if feasible
  • Mothers Day stall-could there be a different process for siblings to know what they have bought?

How to join Parents & Friends

Gallery Image
  • A printed QR code was made available for parents to sign up and join the Parents and Friends group.
  • Parents were encouraged to support upcoming events, including the Mother’s Day stall and sausage sizzle events in May. Vicky will send an email with further details and opportunities to volunteer.

How regular do parents want to meet?

Parents expressed a preference to meet once per term, at the beginning if possible. Maybe a different day of the week?

Canteen

Parents provided feedback on lunch orders and requested an additional canteen day, such as a Monday. The school will follow this up with Lunch Mums to see if another day is possible.  Nella confirmed that students are given enough eating time but we will remind the teachers will be reminded to begin eating on time.

Next Meeting: To be confirmed and communicated in the newsletter.
