Dear Parents and Friends
On behalf of the staff of St Carlo’s, I hope all our mothers, grandmothers and the special women in our community enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day with their families. We ask God’s continued blessings upon you all.
St Carlo’s continues to be a vibrant and engaging place of learning, where our students are supported to achieve their very best. I encourage you to take some time to read through this week’s newsletter to see the many wonderful learning experiences taking place across the school.
Sacrament of Confirmation

Our recent Confirmation celebration was truly a special occasion. Congratulations to Mrs Kuric, our Year 6 team: Miss Cauchi, Mr Troy and Mr Dundovic, and all staff involved in preparing the students so beautifully.
Thank you to Bishop Tomlinson, Father Dishan and Father Samuel for leading such a meaningful ceremony. Our students were outstanding, and the readers did an exceptional job. It was a wonderful parish celebration shared with our three schools.
Congratulations
We congratulate Laura Petrie, a former St Carlo’s parent (Angus and Max), on her appointment as Principal of School of the Good Shepherd, Gladstone Park. Laura commenced last week, and we wish her every success in this new role.

Parent Mathematics Evening
We look forward to seeing parents of students in Years 1–6 at tonight’s Mental Computation session. This will provide valuable insights and practical strategies to support your child’s learning at home.
School Winter Uniform
A reminder that we have now moved to full winter uniform, and school hats are optional. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring students are dressed appropriately and take pride in wearing the school uniform. Please note that the new uniform item can only be purchased from our supplier Noones. No alternative items are permitted.
Classroom Open Mornings
Our Open Classroom mornings have been very successful and well attended. We look forward to continuing these this week:
All sessions commence at 9:00 a.m.
Mother’s Day Morning Tea and Stall
Our Mother’s Day Morning Tea and Stall were a wonderful success, with a fantastic turnout from our community.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, who generously gave their time to organise, prepare and run the event, from shopping and setting up, to early morning preparation and pack-up afterwards. Your commitment and care for our community is truly appreciated.
Thank you also to our parent volunteers and to everyone who supported the stall. It was a joy to see the excitement on the children’s faces as they selected gifts for their mums.
Incursions and Excursions
Our students continue to benefit from rich and engaging learning opportunities. This week:
Our Year 6 students recently visited Queen Victoria Market as part of their sustainability studies. It was a fantastic experience, and I commend the students on their excellent behaviour and engagement.
Thank you to Miss Sardo, all supervising staff and parent helpers for their organisation and care.
Prep 2027 Enrolment
St Carlo Borromeo continues to be highly sought after due to our strong reputation as a caring, faith-filled learning community, supported by excellent teaching and outstanding facilities.
We have once again received a significant number of applications for 2027. Due to enrolment capacity, not all families can be accommodated, particularly those who do not meet the enrolment criteria.
For 2027, we have a large sibling intake. Eligible Catholic families who submitted applications by the closing date will be invited to attend an interview in the coming weeks. Offers will be communicated by the end of June.
Our existing families are guaranteed a place at St Carlo’s, and interviews for these families will take place later this term.
We thank all families for their understanding and for the continued trust you place in our school.
Curriculum Overviews
Today you received curriculum overviews. These provide valuable insight into your child’s learning and strengthen the important partnership between home and school.
Parent Helpers
We warmly welcome parent helpers in our classrooms. If you hold a current Working With Children Check and have completed the required training, please contact your child’s teacher.
School Fees
A reminder that some school fees and levies remain outstanding. We ask that these be finalised promptly or that families contact the office to arrange a payment plan. Thank you for your cooperation.
Road Safety
The safety of our students is paramount. Please:
Your cooperation ensures a safe environment for all.

We ask St Carlo to continue to bless our wonderful parish and school community.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
Kevin Gleeson.
We thank you Lord for the great gift of motherhood. It is within our mother’s womb, that we began life. It is in her embrace that we have known safety and comfort. It is through her encouragement that we grow and mature.
Lord, bless our mothers. Draw close to them and hear their prayers for their children.
Give them the grace of surrendered love – a love that images the love of our heavenly mother, Mary.
May all mothers find daily the strength to love generously, the patience to endure graciously, and the grace to live their vocation of motherhood joyously.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.
