Sports Update
Hooptime Success!
Last week we had 2 teams compete in the school's Hooptime Competition.
On Monday 19th October, we had 7 Year 4 students compete at Regional Future Stars Hooptime at Jubilee Park. The team did an amazing job all day, they really worked well as a team, encouraged each other and came away with 5 wins and 1 draw! This means they will be competing at Future Stars State Hooptime on 3rd of December. This is such a fantastic achievement. Well done to Maverick, Nesta, Harry, Ryan, Ethan, Benji and Myles.
On Friday 23rd October, we had 7 Year 6 students compete at Regional All Stars Hooptime at GRISS. The team had a fantastic day, winning all their games, they had a lot of fun and laughs in some friendly games too! This also means that they will be competing at All Stars State Hooptime on 2nd December. Well done to Carter, Aiden, Rylan, Brock, Levi, Charlotte and Dawish.
This was a tremendous accomplishment from both teams, and we wish them the very best of luck for the State competition, Go Clyde PS!
Well Done Bella!
Last Friday Bella-Maree competed in the State Championships where she placed 5th overall (out of about 88 competitors)! Her team placed first and she also came 5th on vault and an incredible 2nd on uneven bars.
Wheelchair Basketball
On Wednesday 28th October, Year 5 and 6 students took to the basketball court a little bit differently. Students participate in a Wheelchair Basketball incursion facilitated by Basketball Victoria. Students learnt how to navigate wheelchairs around the court, while still coordinating the ball to pass to others and shoot into the ring. It was lots of fun and a great way to celebrate inclusion.
Sporting Schools Australia Championships
This week, we have 2 Year 6 students competing at the Sporting Schools Australia Championships, representing Victoria. Both Carter and Aiden went through a tough trial phase to make it to the Top 10 in the state in their sport (Carter - Touch Rugby and Aiden Basketball). This is such a fabulous achievement for them both.
Carter's Touch Rugby team placed 5th overall in the competition. Well done, Carter!
Aiden's Basketball team won their Grand Final in a nail biting match against Queensland! With two rounds of overtime, Aiden scored the final two points to win the game and become National Champions! Well done, Aiden!
