Principal's Report

Term 4 is a busy time for families, work and school, so staying organised and informed is more important than ever. Please check Compass at least once a week to keep up to date with important information, events and reminders.
End-of-year assessments are underway as we prepare academic reports and evaluate student progress. The Department’s streamlined reporting system will make reports easier for families to read and understand.

End of Year Celebration
It’s not long to go before our annual Christmas Carols evening on Thursday 3rd December. Families will be welcome to join us on the school oval for a BYO picnic.
Bring along some nibbles, a picnic rug or camp chair and find a spot to watch the carols from.
There will be a sausage sizzle on the night too.
Each class will perform one Christmas song and the students generally wear Christmas themed clothing, however, class teachers will be in touch with parents if a specific item (e.g reindeer antlers) are required for their class performance.
If your child/family do not want to participate in Christmas related activities, due to religious or cultural beliefs, please contact the office.
Christmas Raffle Hampers
Christmas raffle tickets are on sale from next week. Tickets will be $1 each and proceeds will go towards another Junior Bike Shed.
Family ticket books will be coming home during next week.
Remembrance Day
On the 11th of November, our school will commemorate Remembrance Day. This is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of 1918 that ended fighting in World War I. On this day, we will commemorate all who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peace operations.
Our students will participate in class learning experiences prior to the day, and we will be holding a service over the PA system from 10:50am on Remembrance Day.
Year 6 students will be selling poppies at the front of the office from Wednesday next week until the morning of Remembrance Day. You will also notice some poppies, made by our students, being displayed on our front fence on the day.
Staffing Updates
Ms Nat, our Youth Worker, will be finishing at Clyde PS this week as she has successfully acquired another position at Barton PS for 2027. Whilst we are sad to see Ms Nat go, she is stepping into a large team of Youth Workers, where she will work alongside similar colleagues. We thank her for the incredible work she has done with our students.
Sadly, we also say goodbye to Noah from TeamKids, Outside School Hours Care Director of Service, who also finishes up with Team Kids this week. Noah has built a lovely rapport with many of our students and families and will be sorely missed as he begins his new adventure in Perth.
World Teachers Day
Australia officially celebrates teachers on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 30 October. At Clyde PS we are incredibly fortunate to have such passionate teachers who inspire, support, and empower our students every single day. This week students have created small class gifts to show their appreciation for their teachers. These will be presented to teachers on Friday morning at a special morning tea.
Car Parking and Road Safety
Before and after school car parking times around our school can be tricky when it is busy. Just a reminder to all around some safety measures for families and children:
- If parking and leaving your car – please ensure parking is legal – there have been a few council parking members around and a number of the surrounding streets are no standing.
- Do not stop in the middle of the road to let your child get in or out of the car. This is very disruptive to traffic flow and is extremely dangerous for your children.
