Principal's Message

Welcome to the final week of term everyone! We made it though a busy mid year, celebrating the end of term with dances, singing and the occasional Choc Top!

This week it was great to acknowledge our student leaders with morning tea: a big thanks to Darcy and Mia who helped me finalise the menu!

 

While spending time with the leaders to acknowledge their work, we also went over some of the Attitude to School Survey results. This year, while our results against our strategic plan markers are good, there was a dip in students reporting less satisfaction against the “Teaching Practice for Engagement” and “Experience at School” modules, particularly in the Year 5 cohort. It was interesting to hear the leader’s observations and experiences, as well as their solutions for student lead change.

Following from the Attitudes to School Survey Data, our Parent Opinion Survey preliminary results have also indicated some good opportunities for us. Our respondents feel the school is caring, communicative, and provides a good standard of education. The biggest opportunity is attendance management, particularly how the school follows up and communicates when a child misses several days, and ensuring families know about the Attendance Policy and available support services. This will be something we can continue to work on in the coming year.

 

The Greatest Show!

A big thank you again to all our wonderful volunteers, PFA for their funding, students, staff and of course Marinda, Buni, Jacquie and Max for putting on what was really the greatest show I have seen in some time. I’ve had so many positive comments, thoughtful emails and cards from families (and extended families) who have all said how amazing the production was. I couldn’t agree more - but who would have thought our teachers could be sooooo revolting!

Building update

As you know this last part of the build has been drawn out with some delays in finalisation of the BBQ/community shelter down on the oval. As a rough timeline, the builders have indicated that by October 20 we should have the car park and oval back, and they will be finishing up any defects or smaller jobs that need to be done. 

 

For the junior school, we have been working closely with the Department of Education to progress the necessary remediation works.

 

As part of this process, temporary flooring will be installed in the building. This will allow all students to continue using the space as normal while we await the installation of the permanent carpet.

 

Our Foundation students will also be moving back into their classroom tomorrow, towards the end of the day.

 

We appreciate your patience and understanding while these works are being completed and will continue to keep families updated as the remediation progresses.

It was interesting to hear the leader’s observations and experiences, as well as their solutions for student lead change. \u003c/p>\u003cdiv class=\"embed\" data-id=\"NjV17mQ\"> \u003c/div>\u003cp>Following from the Attitudes to School Survey Data, our Parent Opinion Survey preliminary results have also indicated some good opportunities for us. Our respondents feel the school is caring, communicative, and provides a good standard of education. The biggest opportunity is attendance management, particularly how the school follows up and communicates when a child misses several days, and ensuring families know about the Attendance Policy and available support services. This will be something we can continue to work on in the coming year.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003ch2>\u003cstrong>The Greatest Show!\u003c/strong>\u003c/h2>\u003cp>A big thank you again to all our wonderful volunteers, PFA for their funding, students, staff and of course Marinda, Buni, Jacquie and Max for putting on what was really the greatest show I have seen in some time. I’ve had so many positive comments, thoughtful emails and cards from families (and extended families) who have all said how amazing the production was. I couldn’t agree more - but who would have thought our teachers could be sooooo revolting!\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cdiv class=\"embed\" data-id=\"JKd93vb\"> \u003c/div>\u003ch2> \u003c/h2>\u003ch2>\u003cstrong>Building update\u003c/strong>\u003c/h2>\u003cp>As you know this last part of the build has been drawn out with some delays in finalisation of the BBQ/community shelter down on the oval. As a rough timeline, the builders have indicated that by October 20 we should have the car park and oval back, and they will be finishing up any defects or smaller jobs that need to be done. \u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>For the junior school, we have been working closely with the Department of Education to progress the necessary remediation works.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>As part of this process, temporary flooring will be installed in the building. We made it though a busy mid year, celebrating the end of term with dances, singing and the occasional Choc Top!\u003c/p>\u003ch2>\u003cstrong>Student Leader morning tea with the Principal\u003c/strong>\u003c/h2>\u003cp>This week it was great to acknowledge our student leaders with morning tea: a big thanks to Darcy and Mia who helped me finalise the menu!\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>While spending time with the leaders to acknowledge their work, we also went over some of the Attitude to School Survey results. This year, while our results against our strategic plan markers are good, there was a dip in students reporting less satisfaction against the “Teaching Practice for Engagement” and “Experience at School” modules, particularly in the Year 5 cohort. It was interesting to hear the leader’s observations and experiences, as well as their solutions for student lead change. \u003c/p>\u003cdiv class=\"embed\" data-id=\"NjV17mQ\"> \u003c/div>\u003cp>Following from the Attitudes to School Survey Data, our Parent Opinion Survey preliminary results have also indicated some good opportunities for us. Our respondents feel the school is caring, communicative, and provides a good standard of education. The biggest opportunity is attendance management, particularly how the school follows up and communicates when a child misses several days, and ensuring families know about the Attendance Policy and available support services. This will be something we can continue to work on in the coming year.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003ch2>\u003cstrong>The Greatest Show!\u003c/strong>\u003c/h2>\u003cp>A big thank you again to all our wonderful volunteers, PFA for their funding, students, staff and of course Marinda, Buni, Jacquie and Max for putting on what was really the greatest show I have seen in some time. I’ve had so many positive comments, thoughtful emails and cards from families (and extended families) who have all said how amazing the production was. I couldn’t agree more - but who would have thought our teachers could be sooooo revolting!\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cdiv class=\"embed\" data-id=\"JKd93vb\"> \u003c/div>\u003ch2> \u003c/h2>\u003ch2>\u003cstrong>Building update\u003c/strong>\u003c/h2>\u003cp>As you know this last part of the build has been drawn out with some delays in finalisation of the BBQ/community shelter down on the oval. As a rough timeline, the builders have indicated that by October 20 we should have the car park and oval back, and they will be finishing up any defects or smaller jobs that need to be done. \u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>For the junior school, we have been working closely with the Department of Education to progress the necessary remediation works.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>As part of this process, temporary flooring will be installed in the building.
