Tournament of Minds

Last Saturday, four primary and three secondary teams participated in the annual Tournament of Minds competition.

The competition involved a prepared and spontaneous challenges. It demanded creative and critical thinking, team work and dedication.  Many lunchtimes have been dedicated to the event and all teams represented the College well.

Mount Carmel received two awards: 

1. In the Primary Section - Arts Division: MCC Escher received Honours. The award winning students were Emmy McLennan, Amelie Perera, Trixie Barclay, Callie Jakimowicz, Belle Lyon, Sophia Caletti and Emilia Baker Baylis.

2. In the Secondary Section - Arts Division: Spiders from Mars were awarded a Merit

The secondary ToM teams were super keen this year. We started with one lunchtime rehearsal each week, and by the final week we were rehearsing every lunchtime. 

On the day, everything went well. The scripts were excellent, with laugh-out-loud lines, drama and surprises, and the props were amazing cardboard creations. We received some excellent feedback from the judges, showing us a couple of areas we need to improve to help us win next year.
