Book Week - Part 2

Book Week at St Joseph's

This week, our Year 5 and 6 students explored the award-winning text Once I Was a Giant. They identified examples of figurative language in the text and drew inspiration from it to create their own kenning poems.

A kenning poem is a riddle-like poem composed of two-word descriptive phrases that creatively describe an object, animal, or person without naming it directly. The students enjoyed experimenting with language and creating imaginative descriptions of their own.
