Students Achievements

Youth Parliament

Year 11 student Safa Zahir recently represented our region at the Victorian Youth Parliament, proudly using his voice to speak on issues facing young people today. A powerful experience and a reminder that youth voices matter!

Youth Parliament invites young Victorians aged 16 to 25 to take part in the law-making process by creating and debating bills aimed at addressing key issues affecting their communities and the state.

Reflecting on the experience, Safa said it helped build his confidence in public speaking, leadership, teamwork, and strengthened his belief in the power of youth advocacy: “I truly believe that youth voices are important and can make real change”.

Golden Gloves

The College proudly acknowledges the remarkable achievements of three of our students, Murtaza, Urijah, and Izaiah, who recently represented Goulburn Valley Boxing Academy at the 2025 Boxing Queensland Golden Gloves Tournament.

Murtaza faced the massive challenge of competing in a 7-man division, taking on three intense fights across three consecutive days. His performance stood out as one of Coach Zedda’s most memorable to date.

“I am so happy for him, and he is such a focused respectful student to train. He is very disciplined and trains 5 times a week” Coach Zedda said.

Meanwhile, fresh off an impressive international trip, Urijah and Izaiah returned to the ring at the Queensland event and both taking home gold. Both students with impressive victories, proving they are in top form as the countdown to the 2025 National Titles begins.

Urijah is also scheduled to fight again in Melbourne on August 10, with efforts underway to secure a match for Murtaza on the same card.

This outstanding tournament performance is a credit to Coach Zedda and the GV Boxing team. Their dedication to training, mentorship, and athlete development continues to build a strong reputation for excellence in the sport.

Congratulations to the boxers, Coach Zedda, and the entire GV Boxing community on this well-earned success.

GV Netball Team

Recently our very own Ellie Robinson was not only selected for the U15 GV Netball team, but they won the State Championships (first time in a while for our region!)

Ellie shot an insane 147 goals at 87% accuracy for the day, including 100% in the Grand Final, where GV beat SACSNA (St Albans/Caroline Springs) 11–8 to take the win!

Well done, Ellie, you’ve made your school and your family proud!
