TAFE YES (Youth Engagement Strategy) program

As part of the YES program at Nirimba TAFE, Seth Dela Torre in Yr 12 completed the Music short course tailored for keen High School music students. The course ran for 8 weeks and covered music performance, live production, or sound engineering, TAFE facilities and equipment to support the students musical journey.

The program is tailored to focus on what excites each student most.

In 8 weeks students achieved, hands-on goals, performed either solo or as part of a group/band for example:

• Soldering and creating your own instrument or guitar cable
• Recording and mixing a song as part of a band
• Learning how to operate analog mixing consoles and manage live PA systems
• Performing live gigs, solo or with a band, in front of an audience
