YEAR 12 NEWS

Year 12 Matters
As we conclude the first term of the HSC course, Year 12 students have already completed their initial assessment tasks for each subject. Many have also commenced their HSC Major Projects and Performances, making great progress in planning and developing their work. It’s been a busy start, and I commend all students for their dedication so far.
With the holidays approaching, I encourage every student to take a well-earned break. Enjoy this festive season with family and friends—rest and recharge because 2026 will be a pivotal year. The final three terms of Year 12, paired with the HSC examinations, will pass quickly. To stay on track, students should return next year ready to work hard. Over the holiday break, I suggest reviewing the term’s coursework and beginning to prepare study notes for each subject. This proactive approach will ensure a smooth and confident start to the new school year.
HSC Pattern of Study change requests
For those considering dropping or changing a course, please complete an orange Application to Vary Pattern of Study form, available from the front office. All changes will be reviewed to ensure compliance with NESA HSC requirements, and ATAR eligibility where relevant.
There is no immediate rush to finalise changes; students may adjust their patterns throughout Year 12. However, any changes to English or Mathematics courses must be submitted as soon as possible, as the window to make these adjustments will close at the start of 2026. We encourage students to maintain at least 12 units of study if possible, to keep their options open and pathways flexible.
Farewell
After a rewarding 10 years at Wyndham College and Nirimba Collegiate, I will be concluding my role at the end of this year. It has been a true privilege to work alongside such talented students, dedicated staff, supportive parents, our Collegiate partner schools, and the wider Nirimba Precinct community.
The unique environment of our college has made every day and every year a new and exciting experience. While I will deeply miss Wyndham and its wonderful community, it is time for me to embark on the next chapter of my life.
I am looking forward to retirement and hope to enjoy travelling as much as possible in the coming years.
To all Year 12 students, I wish you every success in your studies and examinations throughout 2026 and beyond. May you achieve your best and find happiness in all your future endeavours.
Wishing everyone a safe, joyful holiday season and a restful break.
