Shrove Tuesday Wrap Up

Thank you to Megan M. (Prep & Y3) for leading this event, and to all the parents who helped mix batter on Monday evening and who helped cook, serve and clean up on Tuesday. 

The students all loved the pancakes (and all the toppings!); it was beautiful to see the hall full of happy laughter from all the classes. 

Prep Parents' Welcome Night

We hope the babysitters are booked because tomorrow night is the annual Prep 2026 Parents’ Welcome Night at Alleyway. This is always a very well-attended and fun evening getting to know other families who you will spend the next seven years with! 

There will be substantial canapes and a welcome drink on arrival. Have a great evening!

Wishlist Items

The PIC is a group of parents and carers who are focused on fostering the community spirit around the school through events with various objectives. 

Some events, like Shrove Tuesday, are simply to bring joy to the students’ day. Others are to bring together our wider school community, like Grandparents’ Morning Tea or Christmas Carols. Finally, we also run fundraising events to help raise money not only to fund those events, but also to contribute to resources for the students and school. 

Last year, our fundraising efforts were substantial and we were able to help purchase a new Gaga Pit for the yard and new furniture for the classrooms.

Every year, the PIC asks the teachers and SRC representatives to provide us with a wishlist of items they would like us to raise funds for. We will keep you updated on wishlist items as they come in and how we are tracking with raising funds to fulfill those wishes.

Easter Raffle Tickets Now on Sale

Our first fundraiser of the year will be focused on the first wishlist item to come to us: new sandpit toys and wet day games for the classrooms. 

Every year, we run a raffle for Easter Baskets. Each classroom will have one winning basket filled with Easter goodies. Tickets are $2 each, and available on the PIC Square site https://st-johns-pic.square.site/ 

Buy tickets for your child’s class and make sure you put their name in the notes section.

Second-hand Uniform Shop

The online uniform shop can be found online at the PIC Square Site. Stock is updated regularly as donations are received, so please check back often if you’re after a specific item. Orders are packed within a week of ordering, and you will receive a notification when it’s ready for pick up from the office. http://st-johns-pic.square.site 

PIC Events Calendar

Our school is a wonderful community and it’s through many of our events that community is fostered. However, it also takes a lot of work to put these together, and we need more helpers this year to ensure we can go ahead with future events.
