Number Fluency and Number Sense

This year one of St John’s key goals is to improve student achievement in number fluency and number sense. Both of these concepts are important to the development of numeracy skills as well as to build student confidence in Maths. Number fluency is the ability to perform mathematical operations accurately, efficiently and with flexibility whereas number sense is the understanding of how numbers work.

To support your child/children with number fluency and number sense at home, here are some skills that you could practice.
