Sacrament of First Holy Communion

We congratulate the 11 students from St Therese’s who celebrated their First Holy Communion at St Agatha’s Parish on the weekend of 6th and 7th June. This special milestone in their faith journey marked the first time they received the Eucharist, one of the most sacred sacraments in the Catholic Church. Through the Eucharist, Catholics receive the Body and Blood of Christ, remembering Jesus’ gift of himself at the Last Supper and his enduring presence with us today. The Eucharist is often described as the source and summit of Christian life, nourishing us spiritually and strengthening us to live as followers of Jesus through acts of love, service and compassion.

Throughout their preparation, our students learned about the significance of this sacrament and reflected on how they can continue to grow in faith and discipleship. We thank the families, parish team and staff who supported the students on this important journey. We are proud of the reverence, commitment and enthusiasm shown by our students and pray that receiving the Eucharist for the first time will inspire them to continue deepening their relationship with God and actively participating in the life of the Church.

Preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation

As we look ahead to Term 3, we invite our Year 6 families to begin preparing for the next step in their child’s sacramental journey – the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation is a special opportunity for young people to strengthen the gifts of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism and to deepen their commitment to living as followers of Jesus.

Families wishing for their child to celebrate Confirmation this year are encouraged to submit their completed enrolment forms to the parish as soon as possible. Please also take note of the important dates listed below, as attendance at these workshops, commitment masses and preparation sessions forms an essential part of the parish sacramental program. We look forward to supporting our candidates and their families as they prepare to receive this important sacrament.
