Buni Money Bonus
Throughout Term 3, students were earning Buni Money to go into a whole school draw. From every 10 Buni Money that they received, they earned one entry into the Buni Money Bonus.
From this, 40 lucky students were randomly selected through their entries to enjoy their special reward. Junior students had a movie session in the Burrow with popcorn and a sweet treat. Whilst the middle and senior years went to Laser Force.
Both groups of students were fantastic and had a great time together! It was great to give these standout students a little something special to celebrate all their hard work and showing the school expectations of Respect, Responsibility and Kindness.
World Teachers' Day – Friday 30 October
This Friday, we celebrate World Teachers' Day, a wonderful opportunity to recognise and thank the dedicated teachers at Buninyong Primary School.
Our teachers do so much more than support learning. Every day, they encourage, inspire and care for our students, helping them grow academically, socially and emotionally.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, patience and commitment our teachers bring to their classrooms and our school community.
A big thank you to all our wonderful teachers for everything you do! We encourage families and students to take a moment this Friday to say thank you to a teacher who has made a difference.
Children’s Week 2026
It's Children's Week! There's plenty of FREE family fun happening across Ballarat this week, with celebrations running until Sunday 1 November.
Children's Week is an annual celebration recognising the rights, achievements and contributions of children. It highlights the importance of ensuring every child feels safe, valued, included and has opportunities to have their voice heard.
The City of Ballarat has organised a fantastic range of activities, including arts and crafts, nature adventures, storytelling, workshops and more. There’s something for children of all ages, including activities right here in Buninyong!
This year's theme celebrates every child's right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion, highlighting the importance of identity and belonging.
Families can also get involved at home with the Children's Week drawing activity, encouraging children to share what belonging looks and feels like to them.
Check out the full program of free activities and make the most of Children’s Week!
Walk 'n' Talk
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, our students have been clocking laps on the oval between 8:20 am and 8:45 am. At the beginning of the term, the Energy Breakthrough (EBT) team challenged the school to complete more laps than them, and everyone has definitely stepped up!
A massive shout-out to some of our top Walk 'n' Talkers who have been leading the charge and racking up incredible distances:
- Louis M: 23.1 km
- Fletcher F: 16.94 km
- Hamish W: 15.4 km
- Austin T: 14.52 km
- Rocky F: 13.86 km
- Toby N: 10.78 km
- Ethan S: 10.78 km
- Jack C: 10.34 km
- Thomas C: 10.34 km
Keep up the fantastic work, everyone! Let's keep those legs moving and show the EBT racers what we're made of before the Maryborough event.
Bunjil Awards
Bunjil awards recognise student achievement and those who display our school values of being respectful, responsible and kind. Well done! All of our weekly winners enjoyed a hot chocolate or zooper dooper with a principal. This process is always a great chance for us to hear from the kids and ask them some questions about our school.
