Year 3 Community

Symphony of Stories

Year 3 had a wonderful time celebrating Book Week and this year’s theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’, celebrating the many stories, characters, ideas and voices that make the world of books so special.

As part of our English learning, students created  ‘Who Am I?’ character clues, explored the structure of mystery stories and worked collaboratively to create their own mysteries. Students also brought stories to life through Reader’s Theatre, focusing on fluency and using expression, pace, volume and character voice when reading.

The Book Week Parade was a highlight, with students proudly sharing and celebrating a wonderful range of book characters. We also came together for a Book Week Buddy activity, providing another opportunity to share and enjoy stories with students across the school.

It was fantastic to see the creativity and enthusiasm our Year 3 students brought to the week and, most importantly, their enjoyment of books and stories.
