SCHOOL SPORT 2026
District and Western Sport Trials
In 2026, Mrs Francis will coordinate all district and western trial information for PSSA Sporting teams.
Some trials at a school level will be held prior to the district trials. This depends on the sport and popularity of trials at the district level.
When trialling for district and western teams, notes will go home with students from school and will need to be returned to school to Mrs Francis before the due date.
Students cannot attend trials without this note being approved by the school and students names entered into trials by the school.
Students can find out about upcoming school, district and western trials by listening to Sentral announcements in class, and parents can find out about trials by keeping up to date through the School Newsletter.
School PSSA Sporting Teams
This year we will enter the following teams in the PSSA competition. The coordinating teachers are also listed. Sporting team trials dates will be announced on Facebook and in the newsletter as well as on the daily messages that children receive in the classroom.

School Cross Country
On Monday we held our School Cross Country Carnival and it was a wonderful success. The day was hot, but students competed in mass numbers, whether they walked, sprinted or jogged, almost everyone had a go in their age event.
The District Cross Country will be held on Mt Panorama on Friday 15th May, with the first 4 placed runners being selected in the school team to compete on this day.
Western Region Girls Rugby League
Congratulations to Lilly Guihot, Mia Higgins and Frankie Klein who has been selected in the first ever Girls Rugby League Team for the Western region. The girls will represent Western at the first State PSSA Girls Rugby League Championship, which is to be held in Cronulla in early June. Amazing achievement girls!
Western Swimming
Congratulations to our swimmers who represented Bathurst District last Thursday at the Western Region Swimming Carnival in Dubbo. The best swimmers from the biggest region in the state were all there, and our swimmers did a great job.
Special congratulations to Addison Jones who won 5 events on the day and was named Western Region Senior Girls Champion! Addison will represent Western at the NSW PSSA Swimming Championships at Homebush on Tuesday 28th April!
Western Area Trials - Boys Netball
Boys interested in trialling for the Western Area Boys Netball Team, please see Mrs Francis for an information flyer before the end of term.
Trials are to be held in late April, with nominations submitted by parents and families for this trial.
Western Area Trials - Girls Rugby 7's
Girls interested in trialling for the Western Area Girls Rugby 7's Team, please see Mrs Francis for a note by the end of term.
Nominations need to be made by Mrs Francis by the end of term for these trials.
School Soccer Team
Girls and Boys in Years 5 and 6 are encouraged to nominate to take part in trials for the School Soccer Team.
Coaches - Miss Barber and Mrs McPhee
When - a list has been placed on the window of Miss Barber's classroom on Monday 30th March. Children can write their name on the list if they are interested in trialling for the team. Nominations close on Thursday 2nd April at 3pm.
Trials - Break 1 Thursday 23rd April and Break 1 Friday 24th April (Week 1 Term 2).
BPS Support Unit Boccia Team Trials
Congratulations to the following children who have been selected in School Boccia Team; Braylen Eade, Oscar Naylor, Elijah Robbins and Brayden Hinchliffe.

School Rugby League Team
Training in Week 1 of Term 2 - Break 1 Thursday 23rd April. A reminder It is mandatory that children wear mouth guards during all training sessions and games.
School PSSA Team - Mixed Cricket
Our next game has been scheduled to be played on Thursday 7th May against Boorowa.
The game will be played in Bathurst.
