Prayer for All Souls Day - November 2
Dear St Bernard’s Community,
Welcome to Week 5 of Term 4! I hope you enjoyed a wonderful long weekend.
The term is moving quickly as we near the half way point. Students are engaged in multiple learning tasks, actively participating in group discussions, hands-on activities, and independent inquiry projects that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Teachers are busy with assessments and reporting, carefully gathering information to celebrate each child’s progress and achievements.
Last week I thoroughly enjoyed hosting two community conversations. Thank you to the families who were able to attend and share insights about what is valued at St Bernard’s and reflect on opportunities for improvement. Next Tuesday 11 November from 9.15am-10.15am I am looking forward to meeting our Foundation 2026 students, at the first of our orientation sessions. I am thrilled to announce that Ms Tess will be the Foundation teacher in 2026. During this session Foundation students will be spending some time in the classroom meeting their new classmates and teacher. Foundation parents are warmly invited to stay for a cuppa and chat in the hall.
A reminder that the gates will now be opened about 10-15 minutes before pick up time. This will allow Foundation to Year 2 families to wait in the courtyard outside the Foundation classroom and Years 3-6 families to wait in the school yard area. Please ensure that children remain off the playground equipment before or after the bell.
We are currently in the process of preparing our class structures for 2026. To assist with this, we kindly ask families to inform us if any students (other than year 6) will be leaving St Bernard's at the end of 2025. If your child will not be returning please email me as soon as possible - principal@stbernardscoburg.catholic.edu.au
A reminder the balance of the 2025 School Fees and Charges are now due. Accounts were sent home last week. If you are experiencing financial difficulties please contact the office to make an appointment to meet with me.

You may also notice a few Real Estate Boards in our local community. We extend our sincere thanks to Ray White Coburg for their support in creating and installing the display across three locations, and to our enthusiastic Foundation and Year 1 students for their wonderful participation in the photo shoot.
