5/6  Inquiry - From Ideas to Innovation.

During Term 4, the Year 5/6 students are engaging in an Inquiry Unit titled From Ideas to Innovation. As part of this unit, they are taking on the $40 Challenge, an exciting opportunity to design and create a small business with a budget of just $40. Each group is responsible for producing a unique, student-designed product to sell at our upcoming Christmas Market, requiring them to carefully consider all aspects of running a business.

Last Tuesday, the students took part in an inspiring incursion with Emma from The Maker Difference. They explored a range of product ideas and worked collaboratively to develop a “Maker Map”, brainstorming potential products, materials, skills, and estimated costs. With their target audience in mind, students considered how to make their ventures both creative and profitable. Emma then met with each group to help refine their ideas in preparation for pitching them to teachers in the coming weeks.
