PSSNSW PSSA Basketball Championships

Jordy represented the North Coast last week at the NSW Championships and played really well. The NC team got better and better every game. Yesterday they beat Sydney West which is a really strong region for basketball, and this got them in a position to play off for 7th & 8th place against Polding. They were down by 17 points at one point and came back to take the lead in the last minute of the game. Very exciting !! Coach Tim did some research into the results for NC from 2017 - 2025, and found out we achieved the best result for our region for the last 8 years on record. What an amazing effort!

A bit of a resemblance to Michael Jordan there Jordy!

🏀 Boambee Boys Basketball Shine 🌟 at PSSA Knockout Gala Day

On Tuesday 20th, our boys’ basketball team represented Boambee with pride at the local PSSA Knockout Gala Day. The Boambee Bouncers were the surprise package of the tournament, winning three out of their four games. Their only loss came against the eventual champions of the day. Mr Maunder and I were incredibly proud of the team's outstanding effort. Their defensive pressure and relentless work rate demonstrated true mental toughness and teamwork throughout the day.

We were also thrilled to receive some lovely feedback from one of the event volunteers, who had been scoring games. She shared that Boambee deserved the “unofficial sportsmanship award” for the day – a wonderful reflection of the respect and spirit our students consistently show.

Well done to all the boys for their fantastic performance and for embodying the Boambee sporting spirit. A big thank you to Mr Maunder, parents and families for their support and enthusiasm in helping make the day such a success.

Toormina District Cross-Country

On Friday, 16th May, Boambee PS had the pleasure of participating in the Toormina District Cross-Country event held at the stunning Sawtell Main Beach. The weather gods were very kind to us, providing a beautiful day that made for an unforgettable experience in a wonderful location.

We are incredibly proud of all the Boambee Public School athletes who took part in this event. Their dedication and hard work have already made them champions for reaching the district level!

A special congratulations goes out to the 27 Boambee students who finished in the top 10. This remarkable achievement means that they are now eligible to attend the Mid-North Coast Cross-Country event, which will be held at Nana Glen on Thursday, 22nd May.

A big thank you to all the family and friends of our students that turned up to support our students. It makes a big difference.

Well done to all our athletes! Your efforts and sportsmanship are truly commendable, and we look forward to cheering you on at the next level! Go Boambee!

PSSA Netball Knockout - Stage 3

On Tuesday in week 3, teams from Stage 3 went to Toormina Public School for round 1 of our PSSA Netball knockout games. Both our girls and mixed teams demonstrated fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship during their matches. Despite tough competition, our students never gave up and all players demonstrated improvement in their skills. It was pleasing to see students actively teaching and uplifting each other, sharing strategies and insights to improve their skills.

Both teams developed terrific resilience and a commitment to improve for next time,

even when faced with challenges or a tough opposition.

Well done Stage 3 Netballers!
