Insight Article: Sexual Harassment In Schools
Recent stories about sexual harassment and threats in high schools have shocked many parents. The reality is that these issues don’t appear out of nowhere in high school—they stem from attitudes and behaviours that begin much earlier. In fact, several studies indicate that bullying behaviours can occur during preschool and kindergarten years and that Grade Four may be the age where bullying is most prevalent.

Bayside Raiders Basketball
The Bayside Christian College Raiders Basketball Club welcomes all our new players and teams and welcomes back our returning families. A big "Thank you!" especially needs to go to all our wonderful volunteers like coaches and team managers, we couldn't do this without you. The Bayside Raiders once again are represented with 18 teams in the Frankston and 3 teams in the Westernport competition - a big achievement when compared to much larger schools and organisations.
If you have children under 5 years of age who are too young to join a team but have a keen interest in bouncing a ball around, the Frankston District Basketball Association offers a range of programs, in particular Mini Hoops, which suits Kinder-aged children.
For children aged 5-10 who don't have enough by just being part of a team or who might have missed out on a team, there is Aussie Hoops, which is an extra practice each week with like-minded other children. Information can be found on the FDBA website, i.e. https://fdba.com.au/programs/mini-hoops/ .
If you have any questions regarding the Bayside Raiders, please contact president.bccraiders@gmail.com.
Our teams are mostly full, except for U14 and U16 girls, but we are collecting names to potentially form an additional team if there is enough interest. We wish all Bayside Christian College families a fabulous Term Two!
Ulli Austermann, Club President
