Harmony Day
In celebration of Harmony Day, the ELC 3 children were each invited to wear clothing or bring an item to represent their family heritage. The children took turns standing in front of the group, showing their items or sharing something of importance to them.
Easter Celebration
It was wonderful to have so many family members join us for the ELC 3 Easter celebration. The children sang the songs they had been practising, shared communion with their families, and hunted for Easter eggs in the outside yard.

Harmony Week
The children were supported to celebrate one another's differences by looking at the different colours of our hair, eyes, skin, the languages we speak at home, the foods we eat, and the houses we live in. The children learned to say 'hello' in different languages.
Through exploring our differences, we were reminded that we are still the same in many ways because we are all Australians and, most importantly, the children of God. We shared an experience through food by making sushi together. We were proud to see how brave and accepting the children were at attempting a new task, something some had never tried tasting or making before.
Easter Celebration
Thank you to each of the families who attended the ELC 4 Easter celebration afternoon. The children sang songs about the meaning of Easter, shared a communion meal together, and took part in an Easter egg hunt outside.
Gym session with Mr Manning
We were delighted to be able to arrange a session with our very own Principal, Mr Manning to help strengthen the children’s gross motor skills in the G-block gym at the end of term 1. The children warmed up with a few games and movements and participated in a few rotational stations focusing on ball control, balancing, jumping, hoping and kicking. Thank you, Mr Manning for being so generous with your time and providing a fun filled, educational time.
Mornington Peninsula Sustainability Program
Christie came and taught the children what it meant to have a sustainable garden. She brought props, visuals, songs, seeds, plants and even worms to help set up our worm farm. The children were very engaged through many discussions and enthusiastic about collecting food waste and feeding them to the worms. They had the opportunity to explore worms up close, to see how they wriggle and move.
Learning about the season of Autumn
We are surrounded by the beauty of Autumn at the moment and the children are learning to differentiate between deciduous and evergreen trees. They are making connections between how the Sun provides food to the plants and leaves changing their colours. The children are becoming more appreciative of the wonders and creation of God.
