St Michael's Caritas Friday FUNdraising events begin on Friday 1 March. The purpose of these events is to raise money for Project Compassion, which Caritas Australia uses to support communities in need.
The Year 1/2 classes are holding TAPITAS on Friday 1 March. Students from Prep to Year 6 and staff are encouraged to bring a $1 gold coin to buy a cut out water droplet, write name on the droplet, colour it in and include a short prayer if they wish. The water droplets will be added to a school display with the droplets cascading from a tap. More than one droplet can be purchased.
Each week a new FUNdraising event will take place to continue raising money for Project Compassion to support communities in need.
The students are also reflecting upon the Sunday Gospel readings during Lent. Ask them to share their understandings of the Gospel readings and the information they are learning about Project Compassion.
If any parents, grandparents or family members are capable and willing carpenters your help is needed to construct a base for a wooden cross to safely stand in. The cross is approximately 1.48 m tall and 60 cm wide. The school will pay for the materials needed. If you are able to assist please contact the Offce or email Ray Hickey rhickey@smashburton.catholic.edu.au
