Halogen National Young Leaders Day

On Friday 16th of February our School Leaders Kartia, Darragh, Clare and Leo participated in a day of learning and inspiration along with many other primary and secondary students from schools across Victoria. The students took notes from the 4 keynote speakers and noted their most important lesson learnt as well as ideas that they could possibly put into action back at school.

"Bryson Klein is a Ninja Warrior grand finalist and has participated in 6 events. His dad is a rock climber and his rock climbing coach has motivated him to do ninja warrior. The most important thing I learned from him was to never give up." Darragh

Anastasia Woolmer -Australian Memory Champion

"Anastasia Woolmer was the first female to win the memory championship for Australia. Anastasia was a ballet dancer and when they reccommended to practice for one hour she practised for three hours! Despite her bad memory as a child that made her feel insecure, she was determined and hard working that lead her to her goal to be a memory champion.  She taught us that if you study hard, put your mind to it and determine then you can do anything." Kartia

Jane Bunn- Meteorologist, weather presenter and author

"Melissa Barbieri was a goalkeeper and captain for the Matildas soccer team, the main lesson I took from her was to not listen to others' put downs and that when you keep on trying you can achieve great things." Clare

Positive Behaviour For Learning (PBL)

Week 4

MAKE A DIFFERENCE in classroom spaces by being a resilient learner

Week 5

STAY SAFE in outdoor spaces by keeping your hands and feet to yourself

Week 6

STAY SAFE in the toilets by using the water and toilet paper appropriately

SMASH is our acronym for our school wide expectations; Stay Safe, Make a Difference, Act Responsibly, Show Respect and Help Others.

Each week we have a whole school behaviour focus where we all work together to make an effort to act upon the behaviour. The students will learn about ways they can act upon this behaviour through role plays, drawings, conversations, dialogue and exploring examples as well as non-examples.
