FIRST HOLY COMMUNION REMINDERS
This year’s celebration of First Holy Communion will take place early in June. Families with a child celebrating this sacrament are reminded to ensure that their child is having their Sacramental Journal signed each time they attend Mass on a Sunday.
A reminder that all students preparing for this sacrament are required to attend the Eucharist Family Night with one parent, at the St Andrew’s Church on May 29th @ 7:00 pm. During this session the students will have an opportunity to go to Confession, in preparation to receive their First Holy Communion.
The Sacrament of Eucharist will take place the following week at St Andrew’s Church on June 5th @ 7:00pm. As traffic can be quite heavy around Werribee families are reminded to arrive at the church 15 minutes prior to the celebration of the Mass.
Parents and Friends Meeting
Join the Parents & Friends Committee – Monthly Meetings
We warmly invite all members of our school community to attend the Parents and Friends Committee meetings, held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Community Space.
These meetings are a great opportunity to stay connected, share ideas, and help support our school through fundraising, events, and community-building initiatives.
Everyone is welcome! Please see the attached flyer for more details – we hope to see you there!
Parent Morning Tea & Principal’s Catch Up
Parents are invited to stay after school drop off to meet informally as a parent community over a coffee and a biscuit. In this time you can mingle with other parents and be updated by the Principal on what is happening behind the scenes. (e.g future building projects, trends in education, questions and answers)
Friday: 30th May at 9am
Venue: School Hall
National Simultaneous Storytime at St John’s
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM, our school will join over 2 million children, teachers, parents, caregivers, and community members across Australia to read The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel, illustrated by Danny Snell, and published by Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing. We are thrilled that our school will be part of this nationwide celebration of literacy and community.
National Reconciliation Week 2025
From May 27 to June 3, 2025, our school will actively participate in National Reconciliation Week, joining communities across Australia in reflecting on our shared histories, cultures, and achievements. This year's theme, "Bridging Now to Next", encourages us to look forward while learning from the past to achieve reconciliation.
Throughout the week, students will engage in activities that explore Dreamtime stories, gaining insights into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. These stories, rich in symbolism and tradition, will serve as a foundation for discussions on belonging, connection, and the importance of understanding our collective history.
