Acting Assistant Principal
Shantelle Stimson
Thank you all for your support over the past four weeks while I’ve been the Acting Assistant Principal, it has been wonderful working more closely with our students and families. I look forward to continuing our collaboration as part of the Student Engagement Leader (SEL) team, with Mitch Harris returning next week. Remember, the SEL team are your key supports for student wellbeing and engagement, so please feel free to approach any of us as your go-to people.

Conferences are coming up soon, and these are also a valuable opportunity to connect with classroom teachers.
Thank you to our families for the noticeable improvement in uniform this week. Your support makes a real difference, and we appreciate the effort that goes into helping students meet our expectations. As always, if a student is out of uniform for any reason, a quick note from home helps us understand the situation and support them appropriately, keeping things smooth and positive for everyone.
Recently, concerns have arisen about vaping. This is something we take very seriously. Our priority is always the wellbeing of our students, and we want to work together with families to keep them safe, informed, and supported.
Parents, carers, schools, and community all play an important role in protecting children and young people from, and educating them about, the harmful effects of smoking and vaping. Research from VicHealth shows that young people care about what their parents, carers and older siblings think and do about vaping.
The Department of Education has developed resources to help you learn more about the health risks of smoking and vaping. The resources include advice about how to talk to children and young people about vaping, and where to get support.
The Royal Children’s Hospital website als has health advice and tips for starting a conversation with young people.
