Dear Westbreen PS Families,
Congratulations Charlie!
Each Saturday, Charlie attends German School to learn to read, write and speak German and learn about German culture. Every year there is a poetry competition. Congratulations Charlie for making it into the State Finals with your poem 'Das müde Krokodil' . We wish you all the best for the next round of competition this weekend.
Sports Dress Up Day
It was great to see so many students in their sports colours on Thursday! There was football, soccer, basketball, netball, callisthenics, cheerleading, cricket, motor sports - just to name a few. It was fun to see all of the scarves, beanies and flags as well. Thanks to everyone who participated and donated a gold coin to the Junior School Council for this great initiative.
Puzzle Club - donations please!
We received some feedback that students would like some more puzzles for puzzle club. We love student feedback and try to respond to student voice whenever possible. If you have any complete puzzles at home, we would gladly accept your donations. As puzzle club runs during lunch time, we only have time to complete up to 200 piece puzzles. Thanks to C+M Residential for their kind donation of some Jenga sets to our puzzle club. We are so lucky to have such great community supporters!

End of Term Early Dismissal (Same day as our Colour Fun Run)
A quick reminder that the end of the term is coming up on Friday the 18th of September and on the last day of term we will have an early dismissal time of 2:15pm. A reminder that TheirCare will be operating on the final day of term as well as over the holidays.
LAST CHANCE! 2026 Parent / Carer Opinion Survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CARERS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026. All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphone. An email was sent on Monday the 17th of August with the link and pin for you to complete the survey.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / carers who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language.
Last year the survey results showed that communication was an area we could improve in and that families wanted more information about their child’s learning. In response, this year we have introduced progress reports completed in Term 1 and 3. We have also reviewed our learning management system and upgraded our school website. Your feedback really does make a difference! Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.
