With a huge Thank You to Catherine Ainsworth and CWA Woodend Eves, and everyone who purchases books from our book club, we have selected all these books for free. The CWA have given a few local schools around the area $200 to spend on books of their choosing, and we also had extra credit in our book club account. We are excited to bring a wide range of new picture story, graphic, and chapter books to our library.
Unfortunately, these little critters have a way of just coming back.
Some parents have reported new cases of head lice this week and have already treated their child's hair. Thank you for letting me know. I'm just seeking all parents' cooperation in checking your child’s hair this week.
What can you do?
I seek your cooperation in checking your child’s hair and in those instances where head lice or eggs are found, treating your child’s hair. Please visit www.betterhealth.vic.gov.auand search for “head lice (nits)” for advice on finding, treating and preventing head lice.
The school also has additional information available regarding treatment and controlling headlice. Please don’t hesitate to contact Narelle on 54270235 to obtain this information.
If head lice or eggs are found on your child’s hair you need to inform:
When can my child return to school?
Health regulations require that where a child has head lice, that child should not return to school until the day after appropriate treatment has started. Please note, this
refers only to those children who have live head lice and does not refer to head lice eggs. More information about exclusion requirements can be found by searching for “school exclusion table” at www.health.vic.gov.au
Newham Primary is aware that head lice can be a sensitive issue and is committed to maintaining your confidentiality.
