In 2026, Mount Alvernia College proudly marks 70 years of Franciscan education for girls, grounded in faith, service and a deep belief in the power of girls to shape the world.
For seven decades, our story has been one of connection – between generations, traditions and futures yet to unfold. As we celebrate this milestone, we honour the legacy entrusted to us, the community that sustains us, and the young women who continue to carry our values forward with confidence and purpose.

Artist Statement
This artwork depicts a dialogue between the past, present, and future of the College. The past student, in the original uniform, offers forget-me-nots to the present student, symbolising the legacy and values passed down. The present student, dressed in the modern uniform, holds daisies to represent today’s achievements, while pointing forward with a daffodil, signifying hope and excitement for the future.The backdrop blends the 1956 school building, the Little Flower Church, La Foresta, and a rural Italian flower field, grounding the piece in the College’s Catholic, Franciscan, and cultural heritage. The artwork honours the past, celebrates the present, and looks forward with optimism.
This commemorative artwork beautifully captures the spirit of Mount Alvernia – a living legacy, shaped by those who came before and entrusted to those who follow.
